Here, we take Baby Suggs seriously: self-devotion is a primary portal for communal thriving. She is not far off from Jesus either. All of creation — the universe, the cosmos, the seen and unseen — tends toward possibility and mystery. And one of the great mysteries we know to date is human consciousness.

We are all here with a story.

With wounds.

With obsessions and hyper fixations.

With bodies of all shape sizes and presentation

and pain.

With questions, rage, sadness, grief,

and inappropriate thoughts.

We welcome you to the messiness of learning to love.

Our aim is to practice self-love and devotion in communion and community through witnessing and being witnessed.

Sessions are 75 minutes.

While the person with the green highlight around their square will change, the format will not.

That way, you can have some sense of what we do and how we gather.

Each week, we check in, center down, engage the content, contemplate it in pairs or individually, and then return to the main room to share what emerged.

After that, we cheers to the next time we gather.

Our goal is consistency, but this is Hush Harbor praxis — which means we may not see the same folks every week because life, capitalism, and white supremacy are always lurking about.

And that’s okay.

We try not to practice white-body supremacy or coloniality in here.

We will not be perfect, but we are about the root work of hospicing white body supremacy in ourselves, in our bodies, in our psyches, and in the world together.

All of us are committed to that.

Which is a very long way to say: no judgment.

Come as you are.

But come knowing that we expect you to take responsibility for how you show up.
