People inside a room with a large TV, green screen, and decorative wall art. A woman is sitting on a black couch, and a man in shorts and a cap is standing and looking at his phone.

Black Modern Mystic is a podcast for social transformation—born from the sacred refusal of the Hush Harbor tradition and created to inspire listeners to activate “resurrection” in everyday life.

By lifting up the ruptures and possibilities within Black faith and spirituality in America and across the diaspora, the podcast invites us to imagine, heal, and build new ways of being.

A woman with glasses and dreadlocks holding a microphone and raising her right fist during a presentation or speech.

Our work stays deeply rooted in the field—grounded in doctoral research and committed to remaining on the cutting edge of thought, practice, and social transformation.

Across everything we do—from the Sub:Culture Fellows Program to Black Science Labs—we stay relentlessly curious. We ask bold questions, explore new possibilities, and illuminate emerging insights that push the boundaries of how we understand healing, liberation, and the future of social transformation.
